Andres is a Java/Groovy developer and Java Champion, with more than 17 years of experience in software design and development. He has been involved in web and desktop application developments since the early days of Java. He has also been teacher of computer science courses in the most prestigious education institute in Mexico. His current interests include Groovy, Swing and JavaFX. He is a true believer of open source and has participated in popular projects like Groovy, Griffon, JMatter and DbUnit, as well as starting his own projects (Json-lib, EZMorph). The Java language has crossed it’s 20th anniversary and with it comes an incredible range of tools libraries to choose from; sometimes there are too many choices for the same task. In this talk we’ll cover those libraries that have risen to the top by proving themselves to be worthy of a place in every developer’s toolbox, both for production and testing code. We’ll also cover some fairly new libraries that are bound to make a big impact in the ecosystem.
