Biography

Justin Lee is Principal Software Engineer at Red Hat, a Java Champion, and has been programming in Java since 1996. He has worked on virtually every level of the application stack from database drivers all the way to application servers and front end interfaces. A long time advocate of Java, he has spoken at conferences and user groups all across the US and Europe. He is an active open source community member contributing when and where he can. Who Needs Servers Anyway?
For many, serverless computing is the natural progression of the microservice philosophy. In this talk we’ll take a look at what that is and the benefits of going serverless. We’ll see how you can get started writing, testing, and deploying your functions on top of Apache OpenWhisk. We will see examples using several different programming languages. This talk will attempt to cover the very latest developments in this rapidly changing emerging field.
